About This Gate

The Suffolk wooden gates are an example of really strong Driveway gate design. It has the same strong frame as all our 70mm wooden driveway gates but is made unique by its 44mm x 44mm stud slats and curved gun-stock top. The beauty of this design is we can easily customise the overall height and even the proportions of the studs to boards to get the look you want for your driveway. These are suitable for over ground automation and can be adapted to suit underground systems as well (contact us for details and costs). Please note all of our clad gates have stainless steel nails visible on the face of the gate.

What's the difference?
Softwood

Grown and kiln dried in Scandinavia to joinery quality specification. Our softwood offers a quality gate at a good price. It’s stable, clean, lightweight, yet provides sturdiness and strength.

Sapele Hardwood

West African tree, grown and harvested in a controlled environment. Sapele is well known for it’s durability and beautiful grain. This kiln dried, virtually knot-free timber, is the perfect choice for high quality gates.

What is a Centre Slam?

A centre slam is a strip of timber that fits to one of the gates. Not only does it cover the gap between the gates for added privacy but it also acts as a stop for the last closing gate to knock onto

Do I need this?

Kiln dried joinery quality gates must be treated before going outside. If you don't order treatment from us, you must treat it yourself.

What is a Recoat tin?

This is a 2.5 Ltr tin of our treatment.

We recommend retreating your gates 6 months after installation, and yearly thereafter.
